I grew up in a good family, and most every Sunday was spent in church. Now this may be my fault, but up until about a year or two ago (I’m 21) I had just merely heard the word ‘lent’, and had no real grasp or understanding as to what this was talking about. The church my wife and I attend is encouraging us all to participate in Lent. What does that mean??
Well, because I’m not entirely sure, I’m am going to spend some time reading up on this. It’s not that I’m skeptical, but I want to know why I’m doing something that seems strange or different. Missio Dei has put up a blog concerning Lent, and the two pastors will be posting things most every day during Lent (starting Feb. 6th). I would also encourage you in turn to look more into this season and consider your involvement as well.
