Faster, More Accessible Internet

Google has always been a big proponent of free information for all. Well now they are at it again, fighting Big TV network lobby’s and people who (understandably) don’t want there profits possibly infringed on.

The item in question is “white spaces” — the unused airwaves between broadcast TV channels. To the best of my knowledge, because all TV channels are going digital, they take up less ‘room’ on the broadcast frequency. This leaves unused space that information could live on.

There is a vote on November 4th (no kidding!) in addition to the Presidential vote. You can read Google’s take, and if you wish, sign the petition.
